Thanks, I read that, and I understand that this will only effect a very small amount of devs, it's just at a time when the Flash player is fighting against the tide, I think charging for anything to do with it is sending the wrong msg, and just reinforces peoples view that it's on it's way out. To me that's the direction the Flash player is going in, becoming a dedicated high end game development platform, basically identical to the Unity plugin, so the new collaboration between them is interesting and perhaps is a portents for other things down the road...

I'm a Flash AS3 developer by trade so I'll try and keep on coding with AIR if I can, but like I said it depends on what features in the latest version of iOS you want to be able to use because anything other than using Obj-C and the apple SDK's means you have to wait for someone creates a framework to use them (via ANE or Corona or whatever). I've only just got the Mac Mini, and signed up to the apple dev program, but I havn't downloaded any of the frameworks yet, over the coming months I'll download them all and have a look and I'll post back here my thoughts on them.

But for you though it really depends on what previous coding experience you have, what tools you are comfortable using and what kind of game you are creating. I havn't used it yet but from what I've heard Cocos2D would be the more time consuming option to create a iOS game with than say Corona or AIR.

Hey man! loving your posts and reading them.

Im currently also in the process of creating an Game App. However ive had to beck to the revision board as my idea turned from a simple concept to a massive development nightmare (I got a bit excited haha).

Any how, just wondering. Ive played around with Cocos2D for my game development... because, well, its free! However for a simple 2D model game whats your opinion on the other 3 options?

Hi,

 Just a general Kudos on your blogs. Read a few today after noticing your comment on my site the other day.

 Keep it real. How are you dividing your Flash (AIR?) research and your non-Flash research? Are you looking to do some non-Flash games too?

Its interesting that many gamers (including me) want OOP in their programming languages (Sorry JavaScript), but at the same time we (including me) champion component-based development with frameworks such as CraftyJS or PushButtonEngine.

Anyway - good blurb. I've listed this post on a discussion of;
